Shabbat Services

Shabbat Services at Temple Shalom are a unique, warm and uplifting experience. The music of our services is rich and eclectic, and a critical component of our beautiful worship services led by our Rabbis and Cantor. Shabbat services are usually about one hour long and are followed by a community oneg reception. Most of our Friday evening services are held at 8pm, with the exception of select Rock Shabbat services and other holiday celebrations which are held at earlier times. Please check our calendar to learn more about specific Shabbat and Holiday observances and celebrations.

Rock Shabbat

Rock Shabbat is a unique musical Shabbat celebration that you will not find elsewhere. Composed by Rabbi Lipson, featuring the voices of Rabbi Lipson, Cantor Sklar, our own seven piece rock band and our tremendous Junior Choir students, Rock Shabbat services bring our community together in joyful celebration. Professionally recorded CD's of the Rock Shabbat Service are available in the Temple office. Please check the Temple Shalom Calendar for upcoming Rock Shabbat Services.

Young People's Shabbat

On several Shabbat services throughout the year, including some early Friday evening services and Saturday mornings, we welcome young families to join us for a special Shabbat service geared towards families with children ages 3rd Grade and under. Filled with stories, puppet shows, song and celebration, children and young families gain a taste of a sweet and uplifting Shabbat celebration.

Grade level Shabbat Services

Over the course of the school year, each religious school grade participates in leading a special Shabbat or Holiday service, adding a unique and creative highlight to our services and serving to deepen our sense of community. Our students and teachers work diligently to plan these services within our religious school classrooms, and we ask our students and parents to support their efforts through attendance at these special services. Upcoming grade level Shabbat services are posted on our temple calendar.
